Leopard

A rise, a rush, a feeling be

subside that yearning fast

And once it's done that europhoric hit

Will never stay nor last

Behind the velvet curtain

Beyond the velvet rope

A lonely creature yearns for love

with glassy eyes of hope

And though it will deny it

look through the lens to see

The painted stripes it's wearing

Is starkly clear to me

Beautiful outside

Emptiness within

No pain is seen in smiling eyes

And lipstick covered sins

Mirror less reflection

pools of inky thoughts
