Flightless birds watch cloudless skies
Melancholy cannot be disguised
Resentment comes in many forms
It's ugly head
Disfigured form
Seeps through walls
Thick like oil
Covering hearts in dirt and soil
Leaving those in all its wake
Squeezing, consumed by past mistakes
Gnawing hearts and crunching bones
Needs no key to enter home
Each foul breath leaves hurt and pain
Turning souls to dust in vain
Wishing for another way
For love and hope was lost this day
Not designed to live in a cage
Feel the burning of pure rage
It's ok to be imperfect,
It's ok to not agree
Our hearts and minds will never know
What another humans sees
And sometimes you'll still have some fear,
So hold those close that you find dear
Let your authenticity shine through the dark.
Noone can really steal your magic
...Nor furthermore your spark
And when your soul shines freely
Those pieces once afraid to bare,
That person in the mirror has always been right there
One day these chains will finally break
To live out our days in the sun
And once again we'll connect and dance
and live as again as one
